Five of London’s Best Free Attractions

Coming to London? If you decide to splash out on a nice hotel, you might be looking to make savings on the rest of the trip. If you’re staying in one of the many fine Kensington hotels, the good news is you’re already ahead of the game in terms of saving money on days out. No less than three of the world’s top museum’s are located in this part of the city. Chief among them has to be the V&A, which houses the world’s largest collection of decorative arts.

Just down the road is The Natural History Museum. Like the V & A, it owes its existence to the curiosity boom of the Victorian era, a post-enlightenment period of collecting and cataloguing nature. And taxonomy doesn’t get any more thrilling than this. A diplodocus skeleton guards the entrance, with other dino highlights including a huge T-Rex replica model. Elsewhere, the Darwin Centre is home to half a million jars of pickled specimens.
